Our Company
Target Technology Company (TTC) designs and supplies corrosion resistant thin film alloys
for optical disc applications. TTC invented this technology and now supplies these Target
Technology Product (TTP) alloy compositions in the form of sputtering targets, which can
be used in any available optical disc manufacturing line. TTC continues to lead the way
forward from current optical disc thin film technology to the next generation of higher
density discs.
For many years gold was the only workable solution for the semi-reflective layers of DVD
discs, until, in the late 1990's, Han Nee, Target Technology Company's founder,
successfully developed a significantly lower cost solution involving a highly reflective
silver alloy material. Han Nee worked with many of the resin suppliers to develop
materials compatible with the silver alloy film facilitating a material set that is used
in the majority of DVD's sold in the market today. Most resins offered today for DVD's
work well with Target Technology's silver alloy.
Silicon was offered as an alternative potential solution for this application because of
the low cost of the material but in reality tests show it is simply not as efficient when
all costs are considered. This explains why the industry, with few exceptions, has embraced
the TTP silver alloy solution.
However not all silver alloy's are created equal and at Target Technology we have carefully
refined our TTP product offerings to accommodate not just the DVD book specifications but
other environmental factors as well. We do not just set the industry standard with our alloy
designs, we also bring our top quality service and supply chain to the next level as well.
TTC services the world’s largest replicators from our various stocking points worldwide.
Target Technology Company also designs and supplies alloys for Recordable optical discs.
